At Guardian Forest Kennels, we take our dog's diet plan seriously. We feed premium holistic dog foods and raw meats and vegetables to our dogs.

Puppies

We feed Solid Gold Hunchen Flocken puppy food to our growing puppies. We also give them a small amount of raw meat mixed with the dog food and water in their bowls. In the evening meal, we also add Solid Gold Sea Meal, Vitamin C Crystals, Vitamin-D fortified yogurt, and raw vegetables to their bowl in addition to the puppy food and meat.

Very young pups are fed 3 times per day. Older pups are fed twice a day. We continue to give puppy food until 6 months of age, at which time we mix the puppy food half and half with adult food until the pup is 9 months. At 9 months, the puppy eats adult diet.

Adults

Adult dogs are fed Solid Gold Hunden Flocken adult food, and Nature's Variety dog food, mixed half and half. They receive raw meat and the dog food mixed in their bowl 2 times per day. In the evening meal the dogs also receive yogurt, Solid Gold Sea Meal, Vitamin C Crystals, Glucosamine complex, raw egg, raw vegetables. The Glucosamine capsules are broken and contents poured over the food - do not give whole capsules, as dog digestive tract is much shorter than a human's, and the capsule will pass through the body before being absorbed. We also give flax seed oil, cod liver oil, and olive oil occasionally in the evening meal.

Raw Diet

Raw vegetables fed include potatoes, spinach, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, alfalfa sprouts, sweet potatoes, and fruits such as apples, blackberries, blueberries, peaches, pears.
Suitable raw meats include chicken necks, boneless breast, beef liver, beef tripe, ground beef, beef ribs, beef meat, ground turkey, turkey gizzards, turkey necks, cut lamb. Do NOT feed raw pork.
